About the documentary appealing to my audience I found that it would appeal to them because everyone has their own spending habits but it is not something you can compare. It appeals to more females than women because women tend to buy a lot more then men although men do shop but avoid having to go out and shop. From my audience research I found out that my audience would like to find out why they spend so much money and what are the outcomes of it, is there a personal reason for them shopping so much, my audience would also want to know how much they spend on average on each shopping trip. My audience would like this to be presented by people having their own opinions to say and would like people who have experienced some of this sort to discus it. From this discussion I found that my audience are not shopaholics them selves but they would watch a documentary on shopaholics because they would like to see what exactly shopaholics get up to and why they are the way they are.

My focus group has affected the viability for my idea by telling me what I could add to my topic which will make a successful documentary. I was told to make my documentary appeal more to the male audience so more people would watch it rather than just women. I think this would be a bit tricky to put together as I would need to find someone who is a shopaholic and ask them to discuss their experience as a shopaholic and how they over come the situation.
