Vox pops question

vox pops question

Do you think condoms should be sold to the younger generation?

Week 12

This week my documentary had to be finished making sure all of the editing, sound, voice over’s and transitions were all in the right place. I feel like I have done my very best to achieve the best I could for my final outcome. I added a few facts and figures on fireworks this is what I found very tricky as it was very time consuming and was very fiddly because this can not be done on the mac so I had to use fireworks. Overall I am pleased with my final outcome but if I did have extra time I would defiantly add something more to make it a little bit more eye catching

week 11

This week I focussed on making any changes which needed to be done after the feedback I got from the class discussing. I filmed my signing on and signing off for my documentary which I had not yet filmed. I put them into place in my documentary and was just focussed on getting the editing done for my documentary to its very best. I also added sound, transitions and cutaways which made it a bit tricky because I had to make sure the sound matched the right bit of footage. I also began thinking about voice over weather a female would be more suitable or male.

Questions for interview with pharmacist

Questions for interview with pharmacist

• What if a teenager wanted to purchase condoms and wasn't allowed to do so by the store? Is he or she in the right to deny this person of a condom, even with the risk this individual will commit sex regardless and may contract or pass a HIV?

Interview questions

My interview questions with kaley

• How old were you when you found out you were pregnant? And how did you react?
• Was the pregnancy planned?
• Did you ever think about having an abortion?
• Are you happy with the decisions you made?
• Did this stop you from your education?
• What would you change about this whole situation?
• Are you still with the child’s father?

week 10

This week I had to do a rough edit of what I have done so far of my documentary. I sorted out my interview with Kalye which had to be cut several times because of the two different shots I had, a two shot and over the shoulder of both the interviewer and interviewee. I also discovered that the sound on the footage where I am walking out of the pharmacies is extremely bad where it is very hard to hear what it is I am exactly saying. Overall this week I finished a rough edit of my documentary and the whole class showed everyone their own documentaries and we got into two groups and gave back feedback on it is the other person needs to improve on and what is really good about it so far.

Week 9

This week I had to re-film most of my shots as what I had already filmed was filmed with letterboxing because the camera setting was set up wrong. I also filmed a lot more vox pop so I knew I had a variety of vox pop which I can choose from. I also managed to put all my footage onto the mac and started putting it in order of what needs to go in the order.

Week 8

In week 8 I had completed around 70% of my documentary. I went filming on the Tuesday them on the Wednesday I put all my footage on to the mac so I knew what I had filmed and see what it was that still needed to be done. On the Thursday I filmed some of my vox pops and went filming with my classmates at Barclays bank but as we got there it got cancelled so we had to re-book the interview with the bank manager.

Week 7

This week was half term week. I got and interview with a single mother who explained her situation of when she became pregnant as a teenager which helped me alot with my documentary, and I searched for some archive footage and sound for my documentary.

Week 6

This week I was just gathering all of my contributors and dates sorted out for filming so I didn’t have any problems so I could be filming this week but due to the bad weather condition I had to postpone filming for the following week. So instead of filming I began to do graphics and find some archive footage on the internet and find sound which would be appropriate for my documentary.

Week 5

This week I helped my friends film an interview with Geoffrey Davies a lecturer from Westminster University for their production overall the whole interview went pretty well although timing was a bit of a problem as we had to fit two interviews in 30minutes slot. During this week we organised to go filming on Thursday in Ilford to get some vox pops but unfortunately that had to be cancelled due to the weather conditions as it was raining heavily and the equipment would have got wet, so for the rest of the week I had to make sure everything was complete and up to date and still had to work a little bit more on my shooting script as it was still a bit short. I also changed the format of the script so I completely changed the script onto another format which I feel would work a lot better as it shows exactly what is going to happen in each and every shot.

Week 4

This week I was focusing on getting all my pre- production work finished like the risk assessment, call sheets, my script, production log, questions for my interview and vox pops, finalising my contacts lists, making sure emails had been sent and any phone calls where made. I had trouble doing my shooting script as it had to be 10 pages but I did not get up to 10 pages, but once I spoke to my teacher we thought of a couple more things we could add. I still have not got a response from the children and family centre I could not sent an email as there was not one on the website so I made several phone calls but no answer, so I am still trying to call them and get in contact with them. It also took my contributors a while to get back to me and was a problem of when to meet up for the interview as I could not let it clash with my education time so I had to be flexable about the timing I could meet which I was able to do .

Production log week 3

During this week I help someone film one of their interviews which was Boris Johnson. We went to the Ilford Kenneth moorth theatre where he was having a discussion about London a cleaner place. We got an interview with him but unfortunately forgot to switch on the boom mic which de-activated the sound, but at least managed to receive footage. For the remaining of the week I continued contacting my contributors and was improving on my shooting script, adding more shots to it and writing it in more detail. I also wrote out my questions for my interviews which I will be asking, but am still waiting for my contributor to get back in contact with me. I made a call to someone called Kayle experienced being a pregnant teenagers and am now waiting for a response.

Production log week2

At the beginning of this week I helped Freshi with her filming. She had an interview with Craig the manager who is part of ‘notgoingtouni’. I was in charge of the camera throughout filming the interview. For the rest of the week I was writing up my shooting script as shown below.

In this week I completed my shooting script for my documentary which will be used throughout my whole documentary because everything mentioned in the script is going to be said in the documentary. Due to not having my vox pops filmed I will not be able to write in what has been said so instead I have typed in ‘answers to do you think condoms should be sold to the younger generation to stop teen pregnancy?’. I also was unsure of which shot types to use for certain scenes so in the script I have used a common types, close up or medium close and if it still needs to be changed whilst filming I will do so.

Production Log Week 1

The key aims for this week was to try and get in contact with some professionals who would know a lot more about teenage pregnancy therefore I sent out emails to see if I could get an interview with them so they can tell me about more information on the topic, I also am currently trying to get in contact with someone who has been a teenage mum or is one at the moment which would add realism to my documentary. I managed to send out a few letters this week to a pharmacy’s, teenagers to find out what they think of the current situation with teenage pregnancy, and the family associations.

I have also posted an add on ‘Gumtree' to help me find anyone who is a teenag mother or once was and became pregnant so that they can come forward and would be kind enough for me to record how the situation was for them and how they over came it. I would also like to know what they would do different If they had another chance to change things and should they have been more careful. I have not yet received any responses from anyone I have contacted.
